Overall, I thought the book was exactly as marketed -- a mainly smut-driven plot that deals with themes of consensual non-consent, obsession/possession/stalking, and lust-to-love. It was predictable, but not in a necessarily unentertaining way. Id say it's a mid-tier dark romance. You can definitely find smuttier stuff out there, but it's probably not for a first-time smut reader. I went out and bought a couple more of her books, so that says something.

The good
- I really enjoyed the MMC. He reminds me a lot of Zade from Haunting Adeline, but with more of a psychopathic slant. I like that he is obsessive, possessive, and devoted. Near the end he starts to mention having babies with her, which is good if you have a breeding kink or like the idea of a hot dad. It's only mentioned twice, so if you think that's weird it's pretty easy to by-pass. I like his nickname for her, although I think maybe I just have a thing for pet names haha.
- The MFC was decently written. She could border on annoying, but it wasn't bad enough I hated her for it. She didn't struggle with the "is this right?" for the entire book, which is good because after the 10th time I start to find that type of plot irritating. She was decently well rounded.
- There was a plot, but it wasn't super well developed. Good if you want to focus mainly on the characters' relationship, bad if you're looking for some sort of thought inducing, meaningful content.
- Spicy scenes start early (like, chapter 2). If you have SA trigger warnings, you may want to avoid reading it. Overall, I thought the author did a decent job of letting the audience know that the MFC had a kink for that kind of interaction, so I didn't feel like I was reading about a full on R. I can see how some people might interpret it that way though.
- It was definitely spicy and definitely a dark romance, but I didn't feel like I'd have to make my way to a church and clean myself with holy water to absolve myself of the vile filth it contained. It is as marketed. Nothing insanely taboo or grotesque (IMO).
- I thought they handled "how does a psychopath feel love?" was relatively well handled, and generally remained consistent with the character.
The bad
- The plot was pretty predictable and seemed more of an afterthought. The conflict with the MFC and the villain at the end was lackluster imo. It was both completely predictable but also out of nowhere? Like, I knew what was going to happen but there was no meaningful build up or foreshadowing.
- Some of the side characters were interesting, many fell kind of flat. Good if you don't care about side characters, bad if you want world building.
- I kept thinking it was odd that the MFC knew so many psychopaths. I recognize they're not as rare as people think, but also having like 4 in one book seems excessive and is kind of lazy writing.
- Decent amount of triggers in this book. Check before you read or you probably won't enjoy it.
iām not even sure if i liked this book or not, or if i loved it. i am confused and conflicted andā¦curious?
If you're into dark, morally gray, and absolutely unhinged book boyfriends, God of Malice delivers all that and more. This book is a whirlwind of obsession, power plays, and tension so thick you could cut it with a knife (or a sharp tongue, which the characters definitely have).
Killian Carson is the definition of red flag but make it sexy. Heās cold, calculating, and dangerously intelligentāthe kind of antihero who keeps you questioning your own sanity for rooting for him. Meanwhile, our heroine, Glyndon, is strong-willed yet drawn into his twisted world in a way that makes their dynamic addictively toxic. The tension between them? Electric. The spice? Letās just say Rina Kent does not hold back.
This book isnāt for the faint of heartāitās dark, intense, and filled with psychological mind games. If you love your romances on the edge of chaos with a side of WTF did I just read?, this oneās for you. But if you need your book boyfriends to be redeemable... yeah, Killian might not be your guy.
ā Rating: 4.5/5 for the sheer chaos and spice.
š„ Spice Level: Scorchingāreader discretion advised.
ā ļø Warnings: Lots of dark themes, so check the trigger warnings before diving in!
Love this book it is so good I couldnāt put it down
I loved how quickly Rina brought you into this world. This book is not for the faint of heart or those just getting into Dark Romance, but it was very well done. Killian is morally BLACK and Rina is very clear that he is a fucking psychopath.
