Gnomon: A novel

DNF around 80%, but I still thought this was absolutely fantastic. This story covers so many topics and while it doesn’t say anything new it rephrases what we already know and feel in exquisitely beautiful writing. The only reason I didn’t finish it was because it was just so, so long. I got a little past the 500th page before I realized I felt like I’d gotten enough out of it. But I will say this is the first time I’ve felt completely satisfied despite not finishing a book all the way through. Probably much better on a 2nd, 3rd, etc. read, and very worth annotating and taking your sweet time digesting.
