This is a graphic novel that theorizes who Jack the Ripper was and why he committed the murders. And, yes, the film with Johnny Depp was loosely based on this story!
This is absolutely for mature audiences as it depicts graphic sexual situations and violence/murder.
All in all, it was a very interesting take on who Jack the Ripper was. A good a theory as any!
One con is the font! If you have poor vision like I do, there are times when you’ll read a sentence and it won’t make sense because of one word that will look like it says something else. I would have to pick up the book, look up above from my glasses, and press my face close to make out various words.
However, I did enjoy the art! An awesome depiction of what I would think London looked like at that time. The dark and grimy feel was perfect for this story!
