Forever Never

From the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of Things We Never Got Over

You don't fall for your brother's high school sweetheart, your boss's daughter, or your ex-wife's best friend. Especially when they're all the same woman.

Under Brick Callan's mile-wide chest beats a loyal heart with a few cracks in it. He's the steadfast, overprotective type. Especially when it comes to the one woman he can never have. It's a long, complicated history punctuated by fights, friendship, family, and an attraction that strains his iron willpower.

When Remi Ford returns to Mackinac Island in the dead of winter with a secret, Brick makes it his mission to find out what put the shadows in those green eyes. Even if it means breaking down the walls he's built between them. Even if it means falling for the one girl he'll never get over.

The free-spirited artist just needs to lay low for a few weeks so she can figure a way out of this nightmare. She's definitely not staying. Not when the man who broke her teenage heart into splinters keeps showing up at her parents' dinner table. Remi doesn't need broody, bearded Brick riding to her rescue...again. Not when it will put them both in danger, costing them much more than their hearts.

Author's Note: Frenemies-to-lovers. Opposites attract. Slow burn. Girl in danger. Glorious, glorious banter. Fighting as foreplay. Small-town shenanigans. Big, grumpy, pining, overprotective hero. Wild-child, trouble-finding heroine who keeps on pushing the hero's buttons. Steam Level: Lava. Suspense: Nail-biting. Feels: Big time.

The first half of the book had me not wanting to put it down! I was drawn in from the very beginning and the mystery of Remi's Chicago life provided me with just enough suspense/thrill to keep me engaged. If you would've asked me on page 300 what my rating would be, I would've told you 5 (or 10) stars. However, the last 200 pages fell slightly flat for me, even though it was still enjoyable. Highlights: - Remi's overall character was very enjoyable to read. There were some moments where I rolled my eyes at her dialogue, but she's a force to be reckoned with. She's unapologetically herself, and I love that! - Brick pages 100-350. He was gruff, full of tension, and obsessed with Remi Ford. His character fell a little short for me towards the end. I felt like he only ever thought about having sex with Remi and possessing her, it was just annoying to read at times. - The conflict with Camille and Warren. I thought this added a really nice element to the story and honestly made me keep reading. I just wanted to find out what happened! Lowlights: - Many would disagree, but I almost felt like there were too many sex scenes. I know, I KNOW. We don't even get our first one until about halfway through, but the second half was constant. - A lot of the side characters were so obsessed with Remi and how different she is. It got on my nerves. - I wish it was a little more fast paced. It shouldn't have been 500+ pages. Overall, this was an enjoyable read! I lowlights that I had are what brought my rating down, but I would still recommend it to fans of romance with heavy drama/suspense.

This was my first Lucy Score book and it was quite enjoyable. A little slow to start but picked up about half way through.

This book was absolutely amazing! It was a little irritating that Brick wouldn’t speak his mind (Very much Charlie Swan vibes). But I loved the back and forth of him and Remi! The non-romance turmoil was beautifully written as well and didn’t take away from the romance, and the romance did not take away from all else going on. Tense but great ending! The Bonus Epilogue was also amazing! This was my first Lucy Score book, and it definitely won’t be my last!
