Forever Never

From the New York Times bestselling author of Things We Never Got Over is a standalone slow-burn romance.

You don't fall for your brother's high school sweetheart, your boss's daughter, or your ex-wife's best friend. Especially when they're all the same woman.

When free-spirited artist Remi Ford is forced back to the wintry heart of Mackinac Island, she's ready to disappear--until she collides with Brick Callan, the town's brooding protector and the one man she swore she'd never trust again.

Brick's always been the rule-breaker with a loyal heart, but Remi is his greatest exception and his greatest risk. As the snow falls and secrets unravel, their old grudges transform into a connection neither can deny.

Don't miss your chance to escape to Mackinac Island--where the past is never far behind, love burns brightest in the snow, and every happily ever after is hard-won.

Author's Note: Frenemies-to-lovers. Opposites attract. Slow burn. Girl in danger. Glorious, glorious banter. Fighting as foreplay. Small-town shenanigans. Big, grumpy, pining, overprotective hero. Wild-child, trouble-finding heroine who keeps on pushing the hero's buttons. Steam Level: Lava. Suspense: Nail-biting. Feels: Big time.

Liked this but didn't love so much. It was very good, but there was a certain thing I hated so much, and that is a male figure *SPOILERS* always being the hero and an a hole at the same time.

The first half of the book had me not wanting to put it down! I was drawn in from the very beginning and the mystery of Remi's Chicago life provided me with just enough suspense/thrill to keep me engaged. If you would've asked me on page 300 what my rating would be, I would've told you 5 (or 10) stars. However, the last 200 pages fell slightly flat for me, even though it was still enjoyable. Highlights: - Remi's overall character was very enjoyable to read. There were some moments where I rolled my eyes at her dialogue, but she's a force to be reckoned with. She's unapologetically herself, and I love that! - Brick pages 100-350. He was gruff, full of tension, and obsessed with Remi Ford. His character fell a little short for me towards the end. I felt like he only ever thought about having sex with Remi and possessing her, it was just annoying to read at times. - The conflict with Camille and Warren. I thought this added a really nice element to the story and honestly made me keep reading. I just wanted to find out what happened! Lowlights: - Many would disagree, but I almost felt like there were too many sex scenes. I know, I KNOW. We don't even get our first one until about halfway through, but the second half was constant. - A lot of the side characters were so obsessed with Remi and how different she is. It got on my nerves. - I wish it was a little more fast paced. It shouldn't have been 500+ pages. Overall, this was an enjoyable read! I lowlights that I had are what brought my rating down, but I would still recommend it to fans of romance with heavy drama/suspense.

This was my first Lucy Score book and it was quite enjoyable. A little slow to start but picked up about half way through.
