It's definitely a slow burn—until it isn't. About a third of the way in, I wondered if anything substantial would happen. The writing kept me engaged, echoing Cecilia’s sense of missing something.
I loved the exploration of the polyamorous situation. Sean encourages Cecilia to embrace her identity, which is a lovely moment. Her feelings of jealousy, contrasted with their lack of it, were brilliantly portrayed. It was refreshing to see both men and women centred on love and sexuality.
Yes, things go wrong, but that’s expected. These characters are far from average; they’re much more interesting. I can't wait to read the next one!
Easy read, felt underdeveloped. It is the first book of the series, so that could explain why the characters and stories felt that way. The last few chapters seemed rushed and some of the developments toward the end were challenging to follow.
Some explicit content. So, definitely more suited for an 18+ reader.
