Not every man wants to be the hero. Tobias King chose to be a villain.

Thief, outlaw, and ruthless leader of a group of vigilantes—mirroring his enemies was the only way he saw himself fulfilling his mission.

Until Cecelia Horner arrived, and effortlessly unraveled a plan he spent years devising. In the end, she did something even more damning—she left him.

Maybe that should have been the end of their story, but despite his every attempt, Tobias can’t let her go.

In seeking forgiveness, he’ll quickly learn that the girl he helped shape with heartache and deception is now a woman and a reckoning force who won’t be so easily won. But this self-professed villain isn’t so easily deterred and will do whatever it takes to win her back. Even if he has to confront everything in his past—including enemies he never reckoned with—to do it.

This book was so long and so repetitive. They seriously just kept having adolescent fights about the same thing over and over again. The FMC claimed to be grown and no nonsense, but constantly whined and picked fights with the MMC. Was the author just trying to fill space with extra words because I was bored to death. The first book had me captivated. The second was meh because she gave little time to two characters I felt should have had more attention. One in particular. I love a happy ending, but this book was making me rip out my hair from the roots. It just seemed to go in circles. I also love dual points of view, but I kept feeling like I was just reading their personal journal entries and when they did actually interact with each other, it was constant confessions, lectures, and life lessons they were giving to each other. Just tell the story for crying out loud, that’s where the action is at. I hate that I’m writing this because “the plight before Christmas”, by the same author, is actually one of my favorite books. Ahh! If I’m going to be won back, please write a book with Sean as the mmc. I could get on board with that.

This is last book in this series. Loved getting an overview of how the Ravenhood started and all the hoops Tobias had to go through. It was nice getting glimpses of younger Tobias, Dom, and Sean. I honestly do not like Tobias all that much. I'm still team Dom/Sean. Loved that Cecilia gave Tobias hell though.

What an emotional roller coaster ride this trilogy was! Highly recommend if you want passion, angst, raw emotions, spice, forgiveness and revenge along with hope and love. ☺️
