Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice: A Novel (The Finlay Donovan Series, 4)

A USA TODAY BESTSELLER!

From
New York Times bestseller Elle Cosimano comes Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice--the fiercely anticipated next installment in the beloved Finlay Donovan series.

"Finlay Donovan is irresistible!"--Janet Evanovich

Finlay Donovan and her nanny/partner-in-crime Vero are in sore need of a girls' weekend away. They plan a trip to Atlantic City, but odds are--seeing as it's actually a cover story to negotiate a deal with a dangerous loan shark, save Vero's childhood crush Javi, and hunt down a stolen car--it won't be all fun and games. When Finlay's ex-husband Steven and her mother insist on tagging along too, Finlay and Vero suddenly have a few too many meddlesome passengers along for the ride.

Within hours of arriving in their seedy casino hotel, it becomes clear their rescue mission is going to be a bust. Javi's kidnapper, Marco, refuses to negotiate, demanding payment in full in exchange for Javi's life. But that's not all--he insists on knowing the whereabouts of his missing nephew, Ike, who mysteriously disappeared. Unable to confess what really happened to Ike, Finlay and Vero are forced to come up with a new plan: sleuth out the location of Javi and the Aston Martin, then steal them both back.

But when they sneak into the loan shark's suite to search for clues, they find more than they bargained for--Marco's already dead. They don't have a clue who murdered him, only that they themselves have a very convincing motive. Then four members of the police department unexpectedly show up in town, also looking for Ike--and after Finlay's night with hot cop Nick at the police academy, he's a little too eager to keep her close to his side.

If Finlay can juggle a jealous ex-husband, two precocious kids, her mother's marital issues, a decomposing loan shark, and find Vero's missing boyfriend, she might get out of Atlantic City in one piece. But will she fold under the pressure and come clean about the things she's done, or be forced to double down?

Finlay Donovan is continuing her adventures! In this latest installment, Finn, Vero and the gang are traveling to Atlantic City on a "family" roadtrip!

Book 4 literally picks up right where book 3 left off, this series must be read in order or you'll be super confused!

I have to say that I've really enjoyed this series as a whole... that being said, this might be my least favorite book in the series thus far. I think this one just wasn't as funny to me as previous books. I did enjoy this one thought and read it in a day.

However, I did LOVE that Detective Nick had a more active role in book 4. And... that CLIFFHANGER! I am SO looking forward to book 5.

Thank you Elle Cosimano, Minotaur Books and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This series is just too good! Each book just keeps getting better - more mysteries, more clues, more action, more romance, just... more. Definitely my favorite in the series for a multitude of reasons. First off, I’ve said it before but these are just amazing in audio format because of Angela Dawe and her narration. She really does an incredible job of bringing these characters and this story to life and I would recommend them as audiobooks over and over again. As for the story itself, Finlay is crazy confident now and I love how bold she is. I also loved seeing a new side of Vero. Seeing her care for Javi was so sweet and I adored that part of the storyline. Speaking of love, Nick is ADORABLE and I’m obsessed with him and how much he cares for Finn. Just like the previous books it really is crazy how much Finn and Vero get into and still don’t get caught. It’s honestly like the books Finlay is writing... A little far-fetched but the characters jump off the page. Without giving any spoilers, the way this one ends is incredible and although I thought we would be done with Finlay Donovan after book 4, I really hope we get another one!

Okay, so I'm officially hooked. Definitely not as good as the first in the series, but compelling nonetheless!

It really wrapped (most) things up.

I’m hoping we’ll see more!
