ARC Review-
Fight For Love, book two of the Oakworth Love series focuses this time on self-made billionaire and co-owner of Civ Div (veteran’s center), Alec Montgomery and local car shop owner and girl next door Rosalind “Rosie” Alvarez. The two belong to the same friend group but are less than friendly with each other, never quite seeing eye to eye because of a long-standing grudge. Will their disgruntled tension tear their friend group in two or will it bloom into something neither of them ever considered a possibility? I absolutely fell in love with the cozy little small town of Oakworth, Idaho and its lovable inhabitants in book one of the series but I wanted more. And book two, Fight For Love has given me just that. While another pair of characters is highlighted in this story it’s all very much cohesive because we see many of the same characters from book one. I can’t say enough good things about these characters especially Rosie who is as fiery and independent as they come. She doesn’t take crap from anyone especially Alec, and she more often than not puts him right back in his place. Alec is the absolute yin to her yang, he gives off the tough guy persona but deep down he’s as squishy and gooey as they come, especially when it comes to how he feels about Rosie. The slow burn of there story was almost torturous but in a good way and, I was rooting for the spark to ignite from page one. The last half of the book blew my mind, literally an unexpected wrench was thrown in the cog and I never saw it coming! It had my brain firing on all cylinders and I couldn’t put the book down! If you need a book with sassy back and forth banter, a swoon-worthy love story, and a quirky small town where word travels fast then absolutely go grab this one! 100% looking forward to digging into book three.
