As a warrior in the elven army, Yeeran has known nothing but violence her whole life. Her sister, Lettle, is trying to make a living as a diviner, seeking prophecies of a better future.
When a fatal mistake leads to Yeeran’s exile from the Elven Lands, both sisters are forced into the terrifying wilderness beyond their borders.
There they encounter the impossible: the fae court. The fae haven’t been seen for a millennium. But now Yeeran and Lettle are thrust into their seductive world, torn among their loyalties to each other, their elven homeland, and their hearts.

Wanna read faebound? Well I’m faestruggling to read this garbage!
3.5/5
This was a great start for this story. I enjoyed the different perspective on this world. I read this back in January and still have a vivid picture in mind for the world. I only wish to understand the characters more - I wanted to be deeper inside their head. I wanted to know Yeeran as much as I understood Lettle - the love they have for each other as siblings is truly precious.
I will be reading the next book!
Thank you to NetGalley and PRH for the eArc.

This book should have been amazing. Loved the premise—but honestly, poorly executed. And I did not want to say that. I think this book falls apart because of the two POVs because… there’s a lot going on. We have old lovers, extensive secret pasts, family shit, political shit and then a whole new world and I never felt like I got to know either of the characters before we were switching POVs. Also, the sex scenes were spicy but it was often a “suddenly in love” situation with many pairs of people. Ugh. It had everything I love and hate in a book. Fate! Destiny! Animals choosing a magical bond! Secret bloodlines! Betrayal! Magic! History! And yet—it fell flat. It should have been like 300 pages longer and covered less ground. Sorry.
But it’s queer!
Latest book of Sara El-Arifi first of a new series. I decided to read this series before starting her more famous one! Really easy to read, good character development and although some romantasy it is well done and not overdone having quite a good plot. Really great to see fantasy book written by BIPOC and queer author with black, disabled and/or queer characters.
