Morally grey light. H is closer to white hat than black hat.
This book feels very incomplete. We never find out why H wants to be called Dare instead of his real first name. When the name thing was presented, it was presented like it was a big deal. But we heard nothing after that, and have no idea what the deal is with it.
He does a lot of things and blames them on Anae (Dare's other girlfriend/bestie/accomplice) being in control of him. What? How is he a badass when being controlled by another human?
Aubrey is a doormat h. She is also an idiot. Dare told her to trust him about everything, but nothing in the book, including access to a tiny amount of his inner dialogue in his chapters, convinced me to trust him at all.
There are some spicy scenes: Dare does do some psycho stuff. Drugg!ng, Somn0philia, hard s3x, lots of hickeys, all without any regard for her feelings. But the spicy scenes themselves were pretty vanilla. For instance; she doesn't ever give him 0ral. πΆπΆπΆ/5 chilies on the spicy scale.
So, basically, he is a j/p psycho, who has 2 girlfriends and is trying to manipulate both while being outmanipulated by the evil girlfriend, who he tries to get rid of but is definitely coming back for the only person in the book I cared about, Cinderella/Hannah. Maybe there will be a book about her.
