Ethic can not catch a break! I have to admit I’m invested in this series and will read the next book. I listened to this on Audible and the narration was better than Moth to a Flame. I was confused because there was no mention of Morgan’s disability in the first book (unless I missed it) and Ethic didn’t seem to have “the same face” as he did when Moth to a Flame ended

I understand that people/characters go through obstacles in life and these obstacles tend to make them stronger, but enough is enough. Ethic’s life is nothing but misery. Mistake after mistake and all he’s trying to do is take care of his family and get out of the game. When will he get his happy ever after? When does he get to sit back and just raise his kid? Also, what is Ashley Antoinette’s obsession with rape? Especially of a minor? My heart breaks every time for those girls.
