OMG! This story is so good! Once the problem leaves, self correction occurs. Water seeks its own level. Homeostasis, equality, nature. And then the revolution can begin.

One of my favorites of the Forward Collection for sure, such a great story!

Engaging and quick!

I enjoy her writing immensely. This was a bit of a departure and is probably better to read in one sitting, but lots of interesting ideas to consider here. Race or maybe more appropriately subspecies is examined in a power hierarchy, as well as biotechnology.

clever. some parts had me grinning and chuckling. others made me "shake my head". overall, a good sample of what makes n.k. jemisin so popular. completed this book with kindle immersion reading and thoroughly enjoyed the narrator. he was a good fit.
