I have a love/hate relationship with ARCs… I love requesting them, but sometimes I dread reading them because it starts to feel like work 🥲😅 But WOW. It’s been a minute since a book grabbed me within the first few pages like Don’t Ask Why did. Nelson really nailed the multiple POVs and getting different perspectives on the same horrifying situation kept things tense and fast-paced. The plot had a solid level of thrill, and the twists definitely kept me on my toes. I think this one is perfect for my thriller lovers who love Stacy Willingham, Lisa Jewell, and those locked-in, no-way-out, can't escape island suspense vibes Overall, this was a quick, engaging read that pulled me out of my ARC slump so I will be dedicating May to knocking out ARCs. Speaking of which, this book is already published as of March 😛 I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Star Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Favorite Quote: "What do I have to live for, anyway? Why am I fighting? I’m tired and alone. For years I haven’t been able to see beyond Bryce’s impending death. And now, with all of that behind me, my future feels like an abyss." Trigger Warnings: grief, death of a spouse, murder, violence, missing person, isolation, paranoia, betrayal, trauma, psychological distress
