Diary of an Oxygen Thief (The Oxygen Thief Diaries)

Hurt people hurt people.

Say there was a novel in which Holden Caulfield was an alcoholic and Lolita was a photographer’s assistant and, somehow, they met in Bright Lights, Big City. He’s blinded by love. She by ambition. Diary of an Oxygen Thief is an honest, hilarious, and heartrending novel, but above all, a very realistic account of what we do to each other and what we allow to have done to us.

Unlikeable characters to the extreme. I don’t really understand the point of this one, you’re basically listening to an incel whine for 151 pages about how much he hates himself and women. The writing was actually pretty good but I can’t say I’d recommend this book to anyone.

Loved it. Loved the way it was written. Hated the woman who gave him a taste of his own medicine. Thought she was super weird for the way she went about things.
