Destroy Me (Shatter Me Book 1)

Set after Tahereh Mafi's Shatter Me and before Unravel Me, Destroy Me is a novella told from the perspective of Warner, the ruthless leader of Sector 45. Even though Juliette shot him in order to escape, Warner can't stop thinking about her—and he'll do anything to get her back. But when the Supreme Commander of The Reestablishment arrives, he has much different plans for Juliette. Plans Warner cannot allow.

I find it difficult sometimes to review a novella because they typically don’t have a ton of detail or context. This one, however, did have a lot to help with the overall series. I loved getting Warner’s perspective because I found him to be a complex character in Shatter Me and I really was curious about his POV. I find dystopian stories fascinating and I didn’t feel I got enough from Juliette’s perspective so getting Warner’s take on the world gave me so much more context. I was unsure on how I felt about book one but getting more about Warner, and the journal entries of Juliette, I am so much more excited to get into this series further.
Just not very good, this one was actually somehow worse than the first. itâs low-key entertaining and readable but I wouldnât read it again I have no clue why I continued with this series for so long - it could have definitely all been in half the amount of books it all progressâ so slowly itâs unbelievable and I wonât be reading any past the 4 (stupid) Iâve already read

It's good to read this in order in the series.
This gives you a clearer image and understanding of why and what happened in the rest of the series.

I like little books that give more perspective on the bigger books that you’re reading in the series so this was good.
