But when Christian gets a phone call from a former girlfriend—a woman who everyone, including the police, believes is dead—the deal starts to go sour. Trying to unravel the truth about a family’s tragedy, a woman’s secret, and a man’s lies, Myron is up against the dark side of his business—where image and talent make you rich, but the truth can get you killed.

“What sets Harlan Coben above the crowd are wit and wicked nonchalance.”—Los Angeles Times

For the record, I really loved Myron and his sidekick Wynn -- I may be more intrigued by Wynn than I am with Myron. Thought they were both great characters. Can't wait for the next book to become available at my library.

If you are a sports enthusiast, this series is probably just right for you. Me, not so much. Myron is a sports agent who also does undercover work for the FBI and solves the occasional mystery. This story is a bit sleazy but nicely introduces all the important characters. Myron and his partner Win (a trust fund baby, college roommate) work as sports agents, with Win doing tech work and acting as security. Their secretary Esperanza is a Hispanic spitfire. In the story, Myron is asked by a former girlfriend to investigate her dad's death. She thinks it's murder, while the police are calling it a mugging. She also thinks it's linked to her sister's disappearance 18 mo ago from college. The investigation finds them in porn call centers and photography studios, linking all kinds of unexpected persons to the sleaze.
