Darling Venom: A Standalone Best Friend’s Brother Romance (Limited Edition Cover)

From Wall Street Journal bestselling author Parker S. Huntington comes an angsty, broken love story.
I wasn't supposed to be on that roof on Valentine's Day.
Neither was Kellan Marchetti, the school's designated freak.
We met on the verge of ending our lives.
Somehow, the tattered strings of our tragedies tangled and tightened into an unlikely bond.
We decided not to take the plunge and agreed to check on each other every Valentine's Day until school ended.
Same time.
One roof.
Two restless souls.
We kept our promise for three years.
On the fourth, Kellan made a decision, and I was left to deal with the consequences.
Just when I thought our story ended, another one began.
They say all love stories look the same and taste different.
Mine was venomous, disgraceful, and written in scarlet scars.
My name is Charlotte Richards, but you can call me Venom.
Author's Note: Darling Venom is a complete standalone. It can be enjoyed in audio, print, and eBook.

Readers say *Darling Venom* is a deeply emotional, slow-burn romance that explores healing and forgiveness beyond typical love stories. Most praise it...
I went into this book hearing a lot of hype about it being an emotional rip your heart out book and I didn't get that.
This does hit on some emotional areas (Kellen and Charlotte are both suicidal) but the MFC, Charlotte, has virtually no emotions so the only time I even felt a little bit of a tear jerk situation is when MMC2, Tate, was reminiscing about MMC1, Kellen, in his epilogue. In fact Charlotte has so few emotions, she barely has any reaction to Kellen's suicide and Kellen's suicide seems to have solved all her problems because; poof; mental health is never even mentioned again.
It's the story of the romance between Charlotte and Tate but is not spicy at all. I'm talking 🌶1/5 chilies on the spicy scale. In fact there were multiple cringey times that were weird af.
It wasn't terrible, I listened to the whole thing, but it wasn't good.
I listened to the audiobook. Sebastian York, Jacob Morgan, and Eva Erickson are awesome.
dual narration, 3 narrators, 3 POVs, first person
some moments did hit, i did feel the sadness in a few scenes. didn't cry but was very close.
the gyno exam scene was...painful. it made me almost dnf, like what the fuck was that?
mid. that's the words i'm looking for to describe this book.
Spoiler free:
I haven’t read a book that I couldn’t put down in 2 years. It sucked me in, made me cry, smile, laugh. This book is beautiful and ugly. Nothing I was expecting at all. The twist and turns till the very last page kept me latching on and reading for more.
With this book you get the whole story, no questions, no skipping over words or wondering “what about this, what ever happened to that”
I read over 300 books in one year and this one absolutely destroyed me to my core. I know it will take another few years to find one that draws me in and take my breath away like this story did.
