Hm.. I honestly don’t know where to start this review. There just isn't much to say. I guess I could start with..it was OK.
Though I liked the prologue, I felt it ruined the book. Because of that and the back cover blurb, I felt that I already knew basically everything that was going to happen. Although that wasn't entirely the case, there weren't any surprises. There was no mystery. The only thing I didn't “know” about was the history of the Shifters and Dark Guardians. And I still don't.It was pretty vague.
The writing was OK. I just couldn't really connect with anyone. I felt detached. As for the plot? Everything was vague and rushed and just….boring. The lack of resolution regarding the “professor and students” was irritating. They were just POOF! Gone.
Kayla was… funny. There isn't too much else I could say about her. Even after learning about the details regarding her parents and discovering her heritage, there wasn't really any growth to her character (except the claws and fur, of course). She just… fell flat. Her relationship with Lucas was borderline insta love. She went to crushin to lovin in a matter of days. I get they were suppose to be “soul mates” or just “mates” but it just felt.. rushed? Weird? I don’t know.. Just OFF.
Overall- it was just OK. I probably wont be continuing this series.
