Dance of Thieves (Dance of Thieves, 1)

Mary E. Pearson's Dance of Thieves is a new YA novel in the New York Times bestselling Remnant Chronicles universe, in which a reformed thief and the young leader of an outlaw dynasty lock wits in a battle that may cost them their lives—and their hearts.

When the patriarch of the Ballenger empire dies, his son, Jase, becomes its new leader. Even nearby kingdoms bow to the strength of this outlaw family, who have always governed by their own rules. But a new era looms on the horizon, set in motion by a young queen, which makes her the target of the dynasty's resentment and anger.

At the same time, Kazi, a legendary former street thief, is sent by the queen to investigate transgressions against the new settlements. When Kazi arrives in the forbidding land of the Ballengers, she learns that there is more to Jase than she thought. As unexpected events spiral out of their control, bringing them intimately together, they continue to play a cat and mouse game of false moves and motives in order to fulfill their own secret missions.

This was definitely over hyped on TikTok. The cover is beautiful, but the story just wasn’t interesting enough for me to want to read the second book

This book was SO good! I was ALL IN on Jase and Kazi from the jump. I get major Aelin vibes from Kazi and she is BA! I'm so glad their lies and distrust didn't break them beyond repair. I can't wait to see where the story goes in book 2!!

It was fine?? Nothing terribly entertaining, but interesting enough to keep reading at a decent pace. I couldn’t imagine what any of the characters or locations looked like, so it just felt like a really bland read. I’ll just read the synopsis of the second book and save me from reading another chunky and clunky book.

I enjoy this book, it may be hard to get into the start is not very hooking the reader to read more but the rest of the book is beautiful the amount of spark the two main characters had a amazing and I love to see how slowly they get closer and closer to each other
