Glitter Magazine’s #1 Pick for Best YA of 2020

My whole world changed when I stepped inside the academy. Nothing is right about this place or the other students in it. Here I am, a mere mortal among gods…or monsters. I still can’t decide which of these warring factions I belong to, if I belong at all. I only know the one thing that unites them is their hatred of me.

Then there’s Jaxon Vega. A vampire with deadly secrets who hasn’t felt anything for a hundred years. But there’s something about him that calls to me, something broken in him that somehow fits with what’s broken in me.
Which could spell death for us all.

Because Jaxon walled himself off for a reason. And now someone wants to wake a sleeping monster, and I’m wondering if I was brought here intentionally—as the bait.

***INCLUDES 3 BONUS SCENES FROM THE HERO’S POV***

This book was amazing! I love the intensity between Jaxon and Grace as they discover their love for one another. Some people are saying it’s like Twilight. I don’t see it. Number 1: Bella was so dependent on Edward and couldn’t bare to be without him. Grace on the other hand is not dependent on Jaxon and can live a minute without him. Number 2: Grace just has more depth than Bella did. Number 3: Grace is confident in herself where Bella isn’t.

It was your typical supernatural academy with a human discovering various secrets. I wasn’t a big fan of the MFC but overall the story was enjoyable. Looking forward to reading book 2.

Really good YA fiction. The vibe is definitely twilight mixed with Harry Potter. It did drive me a bit mad how long it took the FMC to catch on to what was going on around her 🙄
