The golf club may be regarded as a place where men and women play that royal and ancient game, but it also serves as a sort of Petri dish for some of the most outrageous, hysterical, and inane behavior. They all exist in a kind of upper crust Animal House, where the denizens wear Burberry blazers instead of togas, and guzzle gin-and-tonics.
