Lovable characters, witty comebacks, and atmospheric language are what Schwab does best, and CITY OF GHOSTS is no exception. With an adventure that is easy to follow and a cast of characters that will melt your heart, Schwab creates a story that is perfectly spooky, thought-provoking, and enjoyable.
Although marketed as a juvenile novel, I would recommend CITY OF GHOSTS to anyone. Schwabâs writing is phenomenal and she has a way of pulling her readers into any story regardless of age. If youâre looking for a relatively fast read thatâs packed with spooky adventure and lovable characters, CITY OF GHOSTS is the perfect pick! CITY OF GHOSTS is the first book in the Cassidy Blake trilogy. The second book, TUNNEL OF BONES, is already loaded on my Kindle ready to go! Once again, Schwab has captured me with her writing, leaving me in awe of her creativity and brilliance.

Yay for ghosts! I like that this book took place in Scotland. That was fun and I’m looking forward to the next books and where the characters will travel too to find more ghosts.
I like the characters and the legends and the atmosphere.
I’m also happy to finally see a book with a kid in it whose parents are both present and loving and aren’t just thrown into the background and forgotten while the main character goes on her adventure.
Too many books have dead or shitty parents. I know they exist, but it’s nice to see a compatible family unit working together.
