Caught Up (Windy City)

Kai
I'm a single dad and starting pitcher for Chicago's MLB team.I'm stretched too thin, but I don't want help raising my son.
Each of his previous nannies only lasted a few weeks before I let them go.Now, my coach is putting his foot down by hiring the one person I can't fire-his daughter.
Miller Montgomery is the last woman I should fall for. Too wild, too young, and too unattached.
Chicago is just a quick stop for her. I thought I'd be counting down the days until she left, but summer feels too short when I start thinking about forever.

Miller
As a high-end pastry chef who recently won the most prestigious award in my industry, I'm desperate to prove I deserve it. But with a new title comes new pressure, and I can't create a fresh and inspiring dessert to save my life.
With only two months to get back on track, I should be focusing in the kitchen, but instead, I let my dad talk me into using my time off to nanny for his star player's kid.
Kai Rhodes forgot how to have fun, and I'm eager to jog his memory. But when he and his son start to feel like home, I have to remind us both that my time in Chicago ends with the summer.
Besides, I've always been a runner, and the last thing I want is to get caught.

5/5! I literally cried…their attraction to one another was undeniable. And a baseball player, *chef’s kiss* loved miller and her sassy attitude and dirty one liners hehe! Kai, please I would be drooling too over him

5 ⭐️ I absolutely loved this! I dove straight into the middle of the series because I wanted a baseball romance....and boy am I glad I did. I have zero complaints about this book. I absolutely loved Kai and Miller. I loved Miller's relationship with Max and how she became that figure for him that he needed. I also appreciated that there was no 3rd act break up. I know Kai and Miller were never officially together, but I was glad to see them go their separate ways and that Kai didn't ask her to stay, nor did he let her tell him she loved him before she left. He new that she needed to do her thing and figure out what she truly wanted on her own and I was happy to see how selfless he was in that situation. I also really liked the fact that Monty was so cool about Miller and Kai doing whatever they wanted to as adults. He didn't go into psycho protective dad mode like all the other sports romances I've read. He gave each of them a reminder of Miller's that was suitable to their personalities and let them be the adults they are. Overall I'm so happy I read this one first. I've been putting off this series for a long time and with baseball season kicking off wanted something different than the 28363783 hockey romances I've been reading. I'm going to read Isaiah's story next and then probably start at the beginning so I can know the other friends stories too.

I will start by saying they aren’t Ryan and Indy but gosh damn, Kai and Miller (and Max) should probably just be in their own category. I am obsessed with Miller. Absolutely adored her. And Baseball Daddy Kai - I mean, thigh tattoo - hello??? Also just loved that they both figured out what they wanted in life and learned how to find their joy. Max was the true star of the show though, no doubt. The scenes with him baking with Miller were adorable and loved reading about him learning how to talk. The found family in these books just makes me so happy. I love this group so much and it makes me want to be a part of it so bad. Super excited for Isaiah and Kennedy. The plot twist at the end of this was everything I needed as a little tease!
