By a Thread: A Grumpy Boss Romantic Comedy

From Lucy Score, New York Times bestselling author of Things We Never Got Over, comes a contemporary romance that turns enemies into allies and proves that sometimes, love is the hardest battle of all.

The office feels like a battlefield until falling for your enemy changes everything.

Ally Morales is no stranger to hard work--or hard luck. She's juggling a string of dead-end jobs, fighting to keep her independence, and surviving on grit and sarcasm. So when her run-in with the city's most ruthless magazine executive costs her yet another job, she's sure she's hit rock bottom.

Then fate lands her at Dominic Russo's office. He's gruff, cold, and hides behind a wall of rules, but Ally refuses to be intimidated. As sparks fly and tempers flare, neither expects their workplace rivalry to ignite a connection neither can deny.

Discover why thousands of romance fans call By a Thread Lucy Score's most unforgettable enemies-to-lovers love story.

I added this one to my kindle library before I read any other Lucy score. It was on ku and iliked the cover, thought it was cute, but it was way more than cute. It was classic Lucy score and delivered on all the romance and the spice. i absolutely loved ally. She was real and deep and doing her best. She loves her dad and wants to do the right thing and although everything is tough, she remains positive. Dominic is one of those classic billionaire, grumpy bosses we get in these romances and although crazy annoying to read his stupidity, he’s hot and sweet when he wants to be. I think one of my more favorite parts of this one was that ally and dom are not twenty-something, they are in their 40s which makes it felt so different, it shows that it’s never too late to find your person and i loved it plus their chemistry, tension and spice are incredible.

Overall, I loved this book. The FMC was annoying at times, but the banter between the main characters was top tier. Several laugh out loud moments, that’s for sure.
