Stuck in a meaningless job, Eight is treading water in life until a car accident leaves her in a coma. Suddenly, she finds herself in the "Between" with a small group of strangers and an enigmatic immortal being named Sintra. Eight and the others have the opportunity to return to their lives-as long as they survive a series of tribulations devised by Sintra. Untrusting of the mysterious immortal, their resolve will be tested as they grapple with the tribulations while balanced on the precipice of life and death. Failure to survive means being ushered to the "After"-a place of peace...supposedly.
