Beauty's Punishment: A Novel (Sleeping Beauty Trilogy Book 2)

The delicious and erotically charged sequel to The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty, from the author of Beauty's Kingdom

This sequel to The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty, the first of Anne Rice's (writing as A.N. Roquelaure) elegantly written volumes of erotica, continues her explicit, teasing exploration of the psychology of human desire. Now Beauty, having indulged in a secret and forbidden infatuation with the rebellious slave Prince Tristan, is sent away from the Satyricon-like world of the Castle. Sold at auction, she will soon experience the tantalizing punishments of "the village," as her education in love, cruelty, dominance, submission, and tenderness is turned over to the brazenly handsome Captain of the Guard. And once again Rice's fabulous tale of pleasure and pain dares to explore the most primal and well-hidden desires of the human heart. Preceding the visceral eroticism of E.L. James’ Fifty Shades of Grey and Sylvia Day's Bared to You, and even more haunting than her own novel Belinda, this second installment in the Sleeping Beauty series is not to be missed.

Book 1 was hard to read. Book 2 was the book of loving the main characters. I am invested in Beauty and Tristian. I want to know why sex slavery originated with the Sultan. I want them to escape and run off together. Or anything that gets them the HEA they deserve. Looking forward to the next book in the series. 3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️’s

So, not as good as the first one- Story picks up with Beauty and Tristan in the cart being shipped with other slaves to the village- In the village the slaves are auctioned to the townsfolk- Tristan ends up as a pony for a master that falls in love with him. Beautyends up at an Inn with a mistress who really likes her and was loaned to Captain of the guard. This story ends with a raid on the village, Tristan, Beauty, and some of the other slaves are on a shop headed to the Palace of the Sultan....

For as much as I love Anne Rice, this particular series is not for me. I was able to get through the first book, but I can’t with this one. I’m not going to rate it, but I will say I think she writes so beautifully but this is not a good representation of that.
