Ask for Andrea holds a special place in my heart—it was the very first book my book club ever read, and what a powerful choice it turned out to be.
Going into it, I was a little hesitant. Multiple perspectives usually trip me up, and I was worried I’d get confused. But Noelle W. Ihli handled it masterfully. Each voice felt distinct and purposeful, making it easy to follow the intertwined stories without feeling lost.
I won’t give any spoilers (because let’s be honest, nobody likes those), but the fact that the story is told from the perspective of ghosts was something totally fresh for me—and I loved it. It was eerie, emotional, and completely captivating. It also happened to be my first time reading anything by Noelle Ihli, and I was blown away by her ability to blend suspense with heartache so seamlessly.
As you uncover the backstories of these three women, it’s genuinely heartbreaking. But when the full truth comes to light, all you want is justice. You feel every ounce of their pain, anger, and determination. The emotional stakes are high, and the suspense kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish.
This book was more than just a thriller—it was a story of survival, rage, and reclaiming power in the face of unthinkable betrayal. I'm so glad this was the book we kicked things off with in the club. It set the bar high in the best way.

This was my book club’s July club read, and it was another great selection. I’ve never been one of those kinds of readers whose enjoyment of a story is contingent on the story’s level of believability, which is why I like a good ghost story; the crazier the better.
The book summary lays out the whole storyline. Brecia was murdered two years earlier when she ghosted James after a week of dating and he got all weird and possessive when she went out one night with her girlfriends. He murdered her later in her backyard. Megan was murdered a year later after a creepy first date with James who roofied her. Skye was murdered a year later after flirting with James at the coffee shop she worked at; he was waiting for her in the parking lot after she got off work.
During the investigation of Skye’s murder, the ghosts of the three women discover each other and set out to make sure James pays for his crimes. It’s a wild and crazy turn of events that eventually have the three women helping to save another woman and her two kids. Loved the ending!!! Woo hoo!!! Payback is a %^!&#!!!
The character development for Brecia, Megan and Skye was well done. The pacing of the story was steady to fast, especially in the second half. The storyline was wild and crazy, which is definitely my kind of story. The writing was good too! I especially like the title and name of the series. No spoilers here. I’ve already added the prequel of the series of the series to my to-read list. It looks like it tells the story of Andrea. I’m looking at an overall rating 4.4 that I will be rounding down to a 4star review.
