I’m taken aback by the previous poor reviews! This book was a wild ride through a repressed and depressed mind in Part One; Parts Two through Four are a little less unhinged. While I agree with one reviewer that the attempts at being shocking fell flat, I thoroughly enjoyed my journey through the main character’s mind (as well as listening in on the conversations with her Person). I thought the author presented facets of womanhood, motherhood, perimenopause and relationships in a very entertaining way. If you are a woman or love a woman, here’s a peek into extreme hormonal adventures - be nicer to us, please!

Menopause, marriage, sexuality, gender, motherhood. It covers everything!

Total crap. An attempt by a naval-gazing privileged narcissist to shock me. It did not. Some parts are funny. Occasionally (!!) the writing is biting, but mostly not. Loathsome and self-aggrandizing. I thought for a split second it was written by a man showing his imagination of what a woman might be thinking. Alas, no. It’s just a bad book by, and about, a bad writer.

Yet another story of a self obsessed privileged white woman who can’t do life. The seminal character is ‘semi-famous’ in some amorphous arts/media career. The author offers gender preference, identity politics and menopause in lieu of an actual storyline. I kept reading it thinking there may be some revelation. Sadly no.
