This book was quite a bit slower than the first, focusing more heavily on character development as opposed to plot. Some sections seemed a bit drawn out, though it definitely allowed the character growth to feel real.
That said, it was still thoroughly enjoyable, and I quite liked getting to know the characters better and watch them change. And plenty of fun events kept the plot moving as well.
