Felt like I was reading the same scenario over and over again.

A thought provoking book and as a first novel? Impressive! At its surface, a vacuous and immature girl sleeping around. However scratch a little more and it has real depths - a traumatised child prodigy figuring out love, connection and dependence. A lonely girl trying to feel in dangerous and destructive ways. I’m perhaps biased because it’s based in Sydney but I loved the feel of it. As a character study and societal commentary it’s awesome. Would’ve just loved more narrative and happily ever after - alas that’s not life I guess
