Introducing the Book Club Matchmaker, Now Available for Bookworm Members
With a Bookworm membership, you now get access to the Book Club Matchmaker: a personalized tool that does the searching for you.
Instead of scrolling through thousands of clubs hoping something clicks, Bookclubs automatically surfaces the clubs most likely to be a great fit based on your actual reading history. Our algorithm compares your personal bookshelves against each club's reading list and looks for meaningful overlap:
- You've already read books the club has, especially if you rated them highly
- You recently finished a book the club has an upcoming meeting on (a low-pressure way to try out a new club without having to read anything new!)
- A book on your "Want to Read" list is coming up on a club's schedule; now you'll have built-in motivation to finally read it
We also do some smart filtering behind the scenes, prioritizing clubs that meet during reasonable hours for your time zone (9am–9pm), have upcoming meetings on the calendar, and allow anyone to join without a screening process.
