About Trans Books 4 Trans, LA
Welcome!
Hello and welcome to Trans Books 4 Trans! This is an open space for trans folx to connect over trans books. We meet monthly Sunday afternoons in a park, and uphold solid Covid & safety guidelines to protect each other. We utilize a mutual aid pool for tests and masks for people who need them—no one is turned away due to lack of resources. Also, it's not required, but for those who want it, this club can be a social home—we emphasize reparative rather than carceral communication and take special care to avoid cliques or drama. Come all ye trans: space is made for ALL of you, particularly TMA, disabled, plural &/or BIPOC folx.

Covid & Safety Guidelines
Trans people have the highest rates of Long Covid of any gender group. But we are here to protect each other! Before coming to any meeting, you must agree to the following:
Free test/mask pool:
- We have a mutual aid pool to provide free tests and masks to those who are unable to access them for our meetings. No one is turned away.
Testing policy:
- Bring or provide photo proof of two negative rapid antigen tests taken 48/24 hours before the meeting, and the day of the meeting. One negative molecular test is also accepted, and preferred.
- You can often ask for free antigen test kits at public libraries.
Masking policy:
- Ventless N95 or KN95 masks are required to be worn at all times. Any food or drink must be consumed 12+ feet away from the group.
- If your mask gets wet, please replace it immediately. Try to always have spare masks on hand. We will too.
Vaccination policy:
- To come to meetings, you must have received a Covid vaccine in the last 8 months.
Stay home this month if:
- You have any persisting atypical symptoms of illness, mild or severe.
- You have shared any amount of air with someone who is Covid positive in the last 10 days.
- You have tested positive for Covid in the last thirty days, unless your fever is gone AND you have tested negative on two consecutive rapid antigen tests over 48 hours.
- You did not wear an N95/KN95+ mask in your workplace in the 10 days preceding the meeting. If you are in a situation where you are barred from wearing a mask at work, reach out and we'll figure it out.
- You attended a large gathering (defined as 25+ people in close proximity) in the last 10 days without an N95/KN95+ mask.
Contact tracing:
- If you test positive for Covid or flu within 10 days after attending a club meeting, please let us know so we can conduct anonymous contact tracing to let exposed members know about their exposure. Additionally, if you like, we will support you, coordinating food drop-offs, Paxlovid delivery, and more.
Solidarity and community:
- We use reparative rather than carceral communication to resolve conflict. We give grace. We do not exclude, discard, punish, or bully each other. At our discretion, the club may issue temporary or permanent bans to deal with trolls or dangerous behavior, or where resolution proves impossible. Bans are a last-ditch solution, and we promise transparency.
Age policy:
- All members must be 18+.
