Welcome to our Sarasota/Bradenton book club, where we explore the classics together! Whether you’re a lifelong reader or looking to reignite your love of books, this group is a welcoming space for anyone who enjoys lively, respectful discussions and exploring great works of literature.

We typically meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM at a local, non-chain restaurant. While this group started on Meetup (and is still active there), we’re using Bookclubs.com to better track our book history and enhance group participation.

Our focus is on classics—fiction and nonfiction from across cultures and centuries, with group input deciding what we’ll read next. We welcome members from all backgrounds and viewpoints, aiming for a mix of perspectives to enrich our conversations. Whether you loved or disliked the book, your opinion matters here. Even if you haven’t finished the book, you’re welcome to join (just be ready for spoilers!).

We’re not here to be scholarly or pretentious—classics were often the “soap operas” of their time, and even Shakespeare was popular with everyday audiences! This isn’t school; there’s no pressure for essays or prepared analysis—just genuine, engaging conversations that naturally flow from the book and our members’ insights.
