About Naturally Curious

I used to be part of a book club that read mostly environmental nonfiction. We learned about octopus from Sy Montgomery's "Soul of an Octopus". We studied animal senses through Ed Yong's "Immense World". We contemplated reciprocity through Robin Wall Kimmerer's "Braiding Sweetgrass" and we journeyed to Machu Picchu while reading "Turn Right at Machu Picchu" and chatting with the author, Mark Adams. Sometimes we'd read stories of discovery or stories set in far off locations. All with the central themes of science, nature, biology and the environment.
Every so often we would share our thoughts as we read and would meet up occasionally online to reflect and share ideas. I met some wonderful people and learned so much more from the books and club members than I ever imagined. I miss that community and would like to try and build it back in some small way.
I'll share the nonfiction I'm enjoying here and if you'd like to drop by, say hi, leave a thought or join in on the reading, that would be wonderful. If you're just curious and want to browse, that's fine too. I'm pretty low key and maybe one day I'll be able to have the club meetings again like before,  but for now I'd just like to share and find fellow curious folks who might like to connect.
Other ways to connect are through my Instagram, showing all the books my family reads, and Pangobooks, our little virtual bookshelf. Links listed in the links section.
