Welcome to the new and improved Manuscripts & Missions gathering—the most flexible book chat in town! We believe that a love of reading is the perfect way to bring people together, so we've thrown the rulebook out the window.

There is no assigned reading, and no genre is off-limits!

How it Works:

Each meeting is a casual and friendly get-together. Our site educator will kick things off by briefly sharing a fascinating book connected to history, offering a little food for thought.

After that, the floor is yours! We invite you to share any book you are passionate about. Whether you've just finished a brilliant mystery, a moving memoir, a classic novel, or a sci-fi epic, we want to hear about it. Tell us what you're reading and why it excites you.

Our Goal:

This isn't about deep literary analysis; it's about the joy of sharing stories, discovering what your neighbors are reading, and leaving with a longer "to-read" list. Our mission is to connect readers and build community, all within the inspiring, historic atmosphere of the Mission Dolores State Historic Site.
