About Midessa Reading Room
1. Be kind and courteous. Always.
2. Meetings will be held every four to six weeks on a Saturday. Location & time TBD by the Host. Please mark these dates on your calendar, now. Do it now! Plan ahead. Schedule a sitter if you need to because… girl, we don’t want you to miss our discussions, girl’s night, and your YOU time.
3. In the event a date needs to be rescheduled, the Host should also be prepared to announce this update. Whenever we can, sticking to the theme of the book is so much fun! Please give the group about a week's notice. When possible, take a headcount and make reservations.
a. You can choose ANY book you want! We may love it, we may hate it but that’s what we love about book club!
b. Consider posting & sharing information about the author during your month as Host.
c. Consider our group size and noise levels of the
d. Be prepared. Make sure your book has discussion questions. If they’re not in the back of the book, Google helps. If you can’t find them via Google, make them up. Ask for help when you need to. Keep in mind that some people do not purchase the book. They read it on Kindle or listen to it on Audible. Please print questions to hand out at the meetings.
4. In the event that weather or a pandemic happens (thanks Covid-19 and snowpocalypse), we will meet via video conferencing. This is OUR TIME and we will find a way to discuss our reads.
5. Bring your books to the monthly meeting so everyone can sign them!
6. Since everyone who was able to make it to the first meeting enjoyed tallying/voting on which books we wanted to read, I think we will keep doing that. So prior to the meeting please message me, Daniella Rose, privately with your two book recs so I can print them out or if you have the ability to print on your own that’s awesome too! 😌
