Feminist Book Club Edinburgh

We meet once a month to discuss a book that has feminist themes or can be analysed through a gender lens.

In 2026, we began our first long-read: "The Second Sex" by Simone de Beauvoir. We have regular meetings throughout the year to discuss the long read.

We alternate between fiction and non-fiction each month, and our members vote on the next month's read at each meeting. Details of our current read can be found here, on our website, on our Instagram page, and on Eventbrite.

To join our book club, just come along to a meeting! There is no need to RSVP or register in any formal way. You can sign up to our mailing list via our website if you'd like to get regular emails (approx 2 per month) about our current read, details of our next meeting, and additional info about other books and media discussed at our meetings.

All genders are welcome at Feminist Book Club Edinburgh. We do not tolerate transphobia or homophobia and ask that everyone come to our meetings with an open mind and respectful attitude toward other attendees.

We try to make our meetings as accessible as possible. Therefore, we choose venues with step-free access and high chairs available wherever possible. If you have an accessibility need that we don't currently accommodate, please reach out to us.
