I found myself savoring just such a moment during a thrilling edge-of-your-seat ride with Rachel Hawkins’ The Heiress, e-reader in hand. As I devoured the final “page”, I flopped the reader onto my chest and uttered a now-legendary (well, in my house) phrase:

That was such Good Soup!

My partner gave me The Look – equal parts confusion, amusement, and love. I’m known for tossing out quirky sayings, and this one joined the list immediately. But it stuck—because that feeling—the post-book glow—was like the soul-soothing comfort of a home-cooked meal. It was… Good Soup.
