Banned Book Club

The Banned Book Club at Heinrich-Böll-Bibliothek is a monthly, open discussion series dedicated to exploring books that have been challenged, censored, or debated.

Together, we read and reflect on works that raise complex social, political, and cultural questions.

We try to provide a welcoming, moderated environment where participants can share perspectives, questions, and reactions with each other. Whether they loved the book, disliked it, didn't read it- there is no rigid format regarding book genre or length.

Everyone is welcome to shape the discussion. We also invite participants to help shape its future, from selecting titles collectively or making suggestions to defining the focus of upcoming meetings.
