Book club questions for Problematic Summer Romance by Ali Hazelwood

Use these discussion questions to guide your next book club meeting.

Let's get into it. Did you think Maya and Conor's 15-year age gap was problematic? Why or why not?
Maya knows what she wants (spoiler: it's Conor) and isn't afraid to go after it. Did you admire her resolve or do you think it was demeaning how much she chased after someone who kept rejecting her?
Conor stays away from Maya out of a (misplaced?) desire to protect her. Do you find this laudable or condescending?
Conor opens up to Maya in a way that he doesn't with other women (including ones closer to his age). What makes their connection special?
Ali Hazelwood is known for writing men who have it bad for the women in their lives (the term "obsessed" may have been thrown around). Would you count Conor among these men? What were your favorite examples of how bad he had it for Maya?
This is the second book in the series. Had you previously read "Not in Love," featuring Eli and Rue who get married during "Problematic Summer Romance?" If not, did you feel that "Problematic Summer Romance" stood sufficiently on its own? If you had, what did you enjoy most about revisiting Rue and Eli's relationship?
The book is set on the coast of Sicily. How does this setting impact the characters and the plot? Did this book make you want to book a trip to Taormina? If you could have a destination wedding anywhere, where would it be?
If Hazelwood makes a third book in the series, which of the supporting characters' love story would you most like to see?
