This book popped into a recommended list after reading after The Haunting of Alejandra, so I had really high hopes. Unfortunately, it just fell flat. I found it hard to follow the two parallel stories of the curandera(s) in the story. The characters were so similar, that it was difficult to differentiate what story belonged to who.
