I loved the book but more the story not so much the writing. I love sci-fi, I love apocalyptic stuff, and I love aliens. It was all those things and because of that I couldn’t put it down. There are a couple things that I didn’t like. There were two POVs, James and Emma. But I couldn’t really tell a difference between the two. They were the same personality. Sometimes I’d be a page or two into a chapter and realize it was James and not Emma or Emma and not James. The other thing I didn’t like was their romance. If you could call it that?? There was never any affection between the two but the author told us they were into each other. Kind of? And the whole book I kept wondering if we were ever going to find out what James invented that put him in jail. So much talk about it but never what he actually invented! And then we get Oscar. And Emma doesn’t have any questions about Oscar? She’s just ok living in the same house with him. All those things captivated me though and kept me reading so it was worth it! I liked it enough to read another one by A.G. Riddle.
