My kind of book -- intelligent, likable characters, and a realistic character-driven plot. The author really captures the time (1910); and place, a small homestead and a one room schoolhouse on the prairie of Montana. Thanks Sue Carter for loaning me this book years ago...I'm sorry it took me this long to dig in and love this book. I think I'll look for other books by Ivan Doig now.
