We Are Displaced seems to be written for a younger audience but the short stories within are no less impactful to read as an adult. Yousafzai brings awareness to the staggering numbers of refugees in the world and just as importantly, the awareness that these people aren't numbers, these people are people - with hopes, dreams, fears, family, homes that they had and had to leave, etc.
Some of the stories are truly heartbreaking. All were moving and inspiring. I cried for the courage the parents had to ensure their children survived. For the bravery and perserverance of these young women to not only demand education for themselves but for other displaced young women.
