When I first started reading it (it's my book club selection), I didn't like it, but I'm glad I didn't give up on it, because I really grew to like and enjoy it.

Really more of a 2 and a half stars. I wanted to like this book, love so many of Ms Trigiani's other books, but Valentine got on my nerves. I wanted to shake her and say grow-up. With Roman, Sh** or get off the pot, stop whining. Also I know the book was involved with the world of high fashion, but did we need to describe very person's outfit for every event? Not to say that I might not read the rest of this trilogy to see if Valentine ever gets her act together, but I need a little time first.

Fun window into an Italian American family and all its foibles. We are guided through weddings and family crises. Valentine's struggle to save her home and career and her life show a remarkable pluck. Fun, light read.
