I’m a fan of the television show, so I was interested in the book. I could suspend my disbelief for the quick love of Elena. Unlike other reviewers, I think this happens in real life. It might not always be lasting love but that doesn’t mean it’s "just lust” all the time. However, I couldn’t suspend my disbelief that “a sweet and docile” Katerina would think polygamy was the answer. I did think it was sort of interesting and satisfying that the main character Elena is a jerk. It’s not common that YA heroines can be jerks that just take whatever they want.
