Omg, I really wanted to love this book b/c I loved Loving Frank. This was too long & too slow. I actually stopped reading it for awhile & read something else. Then I tried to finish it but ended up just skimming the last 70 pages. I knew nothing about Robert Louis Stevenson so it was interesting to learn about him & his life with Fanny. I think Nancy Horan is a wonderful writer. It is obvious how much research she does for her books. This one just couldn't hold my interest.
