This is a great book if you're in the mood for something different. It starts in a weird place and grows, like vines snaking around and twining together into a whole plant. It's a portrait of the end of humanity (which is not necessarily violent) and a grand social experiment to stave off that ending. Told through the eyes and voices of different people with shifting eras and different bits of the story, the novel can be a little confusing unless you enjoy the process of the puzzle pieces falling into a bigger picture. Personally, I loved it.
