It took forever for the conflict/conflict resolution to arise in this book (aside from Betsy's numerous, and annoying, freakouts) and too many side conflicts that only somewhat pertain to the plot. I really just want to slap Betsy in hopes that it'd be the reality check she needs to finally get her shit together and acting like a freaking Queen instead of a ramblingshallowcrazysushipantsgirlthattreatseveryonethatstryingtohelpherlikecrap...But, I digress... Once the plot thickened, the story got better and was tolerable and there were hints at character and relationship development - which is why I gave it 4-stars (and it's in hope that Book 3 is better).
