I've read dozens of dozens of children's classics, and this is one of the best of the best written in my opinion. Tells of a girl who stumbles on a family living for many, many years with the benefits and the burdens of keeping secret a spring that has given them eternal youth.

I don't know how I managed to go 42 years without knowing the story of Tuck Everlasting, but with the release of the 50th Anniversary edition audiobook, I gave it a listen. I thought it was a sweet story, but with a sad and unfulfilling ending. I appreciated the whimsy of the Tuck family and their unusual circumstances, but I didn't connect with the characters as deeply as I would have liked to. Maybe if I had read it as a kid it would have impacted me more. I absolutely loved the narration choice. Having "Rory" read me the story was a joy in itself. Many thanks to the Libro.fm Librarian ALC program and Macmillan Audio for this complimentary Audiobook Listening Copy.

Easy quick read. Nice innocent story. Until all the DEATH! For a story about an immortal family it defiantly takes a turn near the end. Jeeze.

I like the toad. He's pretty cool.
